Momma. Thank you for listening to all of my latest story ideas and every sad attempt at a book that I've ever written. Talking through my ideas sparked creativity that pushed this project forward. I hope that when you get to read my novel, you understand how much your encouragement played a part in motivating me to continue. (I hope you like it too)

Ivy. Thank you for being the best little sister I could ever ask for. Sometimes, I think you're more excited for me to write my book than I am. That excitement acts as a motivator that only you could ever give me. Thank you for being my biggest fan; you get to claim that title forever, and I hope you feel proud to hold it. 

Olivia, GIRL, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MWAH MWAH MWAH... ahem... okay, back to what I was saying. I still remember when I finished my first draft and texted you. Even though you hadn't read it (and I'm glad because it was crap), you sent me multiple, all-capitalized messages. Thank you for helping me map out my characters (Especially Alexander). You showed me exactly what it means to be excited for someone else. Love you, pookie; can't wait to record that audiobook for you. 

Elyse, 💍 Elyse... will you take me to be... um... oh, this isn't the proposal? Whoops, wrong day. Thank you for being such an amazing friend. Sympathizing and empathizing with me in ways I'm sad you could. When it comes to writing, you've supported me by keeping me here in the general sense. Though I'm not sure I've come close, knowing you're there has always been one of my reasons to stay. Thank you for our friendship, MWAH. 

Sam Savioe, thank you for giving us those quick write prompts. Without those, I'm not sure any of this would have ever happened. 

Alexa Waechter. If somehow you're reading this, I was one of your kindergarten students. You let me read my picture books to the class, which helped me cherish my love of storytelling. And for that, thank you. Sometimes you might not realize how much of an impact you have on your students, since we're so young and might barely remember anything, but some of the remembering is subconscious. You taught me more than the alphabet; you taught me how to feel confident enough to share my work. 

Kayla Badgie. Thank you for letting me read my long-form books to the class. That was when I first experimented with stretching a plot into more than a hundred words or less. The compliments from you and my classmates gave me the motivation to continue writing longer books. Here we are, at a time where a chapter I've written is longer than one of the 'books' I read. Thank you. 

Kayli Mezzano. Thank you for letting me read my book series to the class. That year was the first time I questioned whether or not I was ready to publish a book. I thought it wasn't possible, but going further to ask "why?" revealed how fragile my argument was. 

Chris Peterson. Thank you for being so interested in your students' lives, and although I gave you a nightmare during passion project (although you claim I didn't... 😂), without that course I would not have been able to properly take on the task of writing a book. 

Gordon Korman. Thank you for answering my questions on your readers' forum. You being a young writer is what made me believe that maybe such a thing is possible. 

Amy Loney. Thank you for leaving suggestions on my extracurricular writing and helping me grammatically.
