lives with guilt he doesn't know how to get rid of. His memories replay on autopilot in ways he wouldn't choose if he could.

Biggest fear: being someone’s thirteenth reason.

One goal he has: Escape the 'Stay Aways'.

Eliana Berg...

is reconciling with her parents' recent divorce, the way her family shifted, while battling her own cognitive dissonance.

Earliest memory: Kent (her brother) rocking her as a baby and covering her ears when their parents fought.

Hobbies: Writing her own songs, playing guitar, cleaning her room.

Alexander Harris...

lives with the constant fear him and Josh are going to fall apart. He feels like everything leads to something bigger.

Biggest fear: People worrying about him.

Favorite food: Tomato soup and grilled cheese.

Side Characters

Sydney Blair...

is Eliana's best friend. She's too kind for her own good, and thanks to Eliana, it doesn't get her hurt.

Andre...

is a near-silent 'Stay Away'. He's part of the group, but never really talks. Not in a timid way, but a silent confidence that acts as a repellent to others.

Bailey Olson (Bear)...

is the muscle of the operation. He's quick to use his fists whenever he wants, or when Ricky directs him to. The real question is: will he always want to use that power?

Ricky...

Is the mouth of the 'Stay Away's'. He's intimidating, which is surprising considering his height. He uses fear to his advantage and enjoys having Andre, Bear, and Josh wrapped around his finger.
